Lynn Chase understood that a table could have a point of view. Her patterns were not subtle — they were deliberate, confident, and joyful in a way that mass-produced tableware never quite manages. Monkey Business is one of her most beloved: eight teal-panelled scenes of tropical life encircling the exterior — a cockatoo with a flame-coloured crest, a cluster of bananas against botanical leaves, tropical fruit rendered with the kind of specificity that rewards close looking. Look inside and there is a single monkey, painted alone at the centre of the white glaze, waiting.
Lynn Chase Designs operated from the 1980s through the early 2000s, producing patterns in Japan with colour depth and quality that distinguished them from everything else on an American table. Her pieces are actively collected and the named patterns — Monkey Business among them — command consistent interest wherever fine vintage tableware is found.

About Relikta
From the Latin relicta — something left behind. Every piece in our collection was found at an estate sale, a thrift store, an auction. Passed over by people who did not see what it was. Found by someone who did. We source genuine vintage entertaining pieces with history, provenance, and quiet authority. Nothing mass produced. Nothing identical. Everything considered.
