A matched pair of Wedgwood blue Jasperware — a creamer and open sugar bowl — both bearing the impressed Wedgwood Made in England mark, dated 1977 and 1978. Both pieces carry the full classical neoclassical scenes that define Wedgwood's finest work: robed figures, winged companions, and trees in full leaf, applied in crisp white jasper against the blue ground.
The creamer is elegantly proportioned with a graceful handle and pouring lip. The bowl at five inches is generous in scale — equally suited to a tea table, a styled shelf, or a considered table setting as a fruit or condiment bowl. Jasperware has been produced by Wedgwood since 1775 — over 250 years of continuous production — yet pieces of this quality and colour remain genuinely desirable to collectors and considered home decorators alike.
